


The Rules
League Format:

Scoring Format: Individual Stroke Play

Regular Season: 8 Matches

Championship: Single championship match at season's end

Handicap System: Players compete in both gross and net categories. Players without a GHIN number must submit scores from league play. The league will calculate handicaps using USGA guidelines to establish initial and ongoing handicaps.
Player Participation:

Number of Players: Approximately 40 players

Substitutes: Not permitted

Minimum Attendance: Players must participate in at least 5 regular-season matches to qualify for prize money.

Non-Eligible Players: Players failing to meet the 5-match minimum will not be eligible for prizes but may continue to participate in league matches.
Points & Ranking System:

Points: FedEx Cup-style point allocation based on individual match finishes

Prizes: Cash prizes awarded to the top 2 finishers in both gross and net categories

Tiebreakers: Championship ties will be resolved by replaying the 18th hole until a winner emerges. Regular-season ties in points remain as ties.
Match Rules:

Adherence to Rules: Strict adherence to USGA Rules of Golf.

Scoring: Live scoring and digital scorecards managed through the Squabbit App. Players must ensure accurate score entry and confirmation immediately following the round.

Pace of Play: Players must maintain an efficient pace of play and adhere to recommended guidelines from the host club. Repeated slow play may lead to league-imposed penalties.
Financial Information:

League Fee: $265 per player

Prizes: Cash or check prizes for overall season winners (1st and 2nd places) in both net and gross categories

Side Games: Optional side competitions at each match with a $25 cash buy-in payable at the first tee. Side games include closest-to-pin, longest drive, longest putt.
Scheduling & Logistics:

Match Reservations: Players must sign up and pre-pay for each round at least one week in advance to reserve their spot. Sign-ups and payments can be completed through the Events section of the official league website.

Typical Play Days: Primarily Saturdays (exact times TBD and posted online)

Weather Delays: Weather-affected matches will be rescheduled to the next available date. Notifications will be posted on the league website.

Late Arrival/Early Departure: Late-arriving players receive a 9-stroke penalty per missed hole. Matches not completed by a player will be disqualified from counting toward attendance or standings.
Conduct & Sportsmanship:

Etiquette: Players must observe country club etiquette:

Repair divots, ball marks, rake bunkers

Maintain proper golf attire and footwear

Limit disruptions and remain quiet during others' play

Display sportsmanship and courtesy toward all participants

Disputes & Infractions: Addressed by league founders. Significant disputes may involve consultation with league members during meetings. Founders' decisions are final.

Alcohol and Smoking: Players must comply with club regulations regarding alcohol and smoking. Any violations of club policy resulting in disciplinary action are the sole responsibility of the individual player.
League Communication:

Communication Platform: All official communication, announcements, and schedule changes will be communicated exclusively via the official league website www.birdiesandblueprints.com.

Scoreboard Management: League founders will oversee the recording and posting of scores, standings, and handicaps promptly following each match.
Special Events & Networking:

The league may organize special tournaments or charitable events. Information on participation and registration will be communicated through the league website. Additionally, networking and social opportunities outside regular matches will be periodically scheduled and announced.

Birdies and Blueprints Golf League assumes no responsibility for injury, property damage, or personal loss incurred during league participation. Players participate at their own risk and must comply with all safety guidelines provided by the hosting facilities.
